Marcus is an eccentric, introverted, bullied twelve-year-old who lives alone with his suicidal mother, Fiona. He had only been in London for a few weeks. His parents had separated four years ago. He thought London is quiet boring. He is the first person that Will can care for altruistically. It's a strange new feeling for him.
Will Freeman is thirty-six years old and he had never had a job in his life, because his father wrote a successful Christmas song. Sometimes he thought about working, but he was never does it. He spends most of his free time smoking, watching television and reading about pop culture.

Very useful summary of the story. It also helps students who are interested in the story to understand it better .In my opinion this is one of the best stories written by Nick Hornby especially because it reflects all the hard things a BOY has to deal with in his age. Of course I was making reference to those bullies who bothered him every day and the fact that his mother tried to commit suicide .Tomas FC+16
